China Agricultural University is a university in Beijing, People’s Republic of China specializing in agriculture, biology, engineering, veterinary medicine, economics, management, humanities and social science. It was formed in 1995 through the merger of the Beijing Agricultural University and the Beijing Agricultural Engineering University. At present there are more than 13,000 undergraduate and 6,000 graduate students studying in the university. The new gymnasium, hosted the wrestling events during the 2008 Summer Olympics.

NAU is one of China’s oldest universities of agricultural sciences under the administration of the Ministry of Education. The roots of the university can be traced back to the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural History of Sanjiang Normal School in 1902. Another main source of NAU is the agricultural faculty of University of Nanking established in 1914 and became agricultural college in 1930, and it established the first faculty of Forestry and department of Agronomics, and was the forerunner of four-year bachelor program in higher agricultural education in China. The two agricultural colleges were merged to form NAU in 1952.Cooperation since the 1980s with Cornell University, USA, in the field of crop production incubated the State Key Laboratory of Plant Genetics and Germplasm Enhancement at the university and the National Center of Soybean Improvement. The university maintains close relationships with 30 universities in 10 countries. In the summer of 2007, NAU hosted a group of 15 students and two professors from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, USA. The Wisconsin students were welcomed with class room activities and extracurricular functions put on by NAU students. Relationships were fostered between students from both schools and NAU will continue to host UW students every summer.

Shandong Agricultural University (SDAU),situated at the foot of the magnificent Mount Tai,was founded in Jinan in 1906 with the original name of Shandong Higher Agricultural School. Later in 1952, it was renamed Shandong Agricultural College after many adjustments and integration. The college moved to Tai’an in 1958 and was renamed Shandong Agricultural University in 1983. In July 1999, the former Shandong Agricultural University incorporated two schools, Shandong Water Conservancy College and Shandong Forestry School, to form the current Shandong Agricultural University. At present, SDAU is a multi-disciplinary university with agricultural science as its advantage and life science as a distinctive feature, covering many areas of both Natural Sciences and Social Sciences.

South China Agricultural University (SCAU) was founded in 1909. Main campus settles in Wushan, Guangzhou, People’s Republic of China. It is a national comprehensive university with long history. The university has 24 colleges/department and 36,000 students, including international students from 22 countries. The main feature of the university is biology science. Benefited from geological location, SCAU has been actively building international academic exchanges and co-operations with other academic organizations in the world. It has established inter-institutional ties with twenty-three universities from thirteen countries in Europe, America, Asia and Oceania. There are more and more academic exchanges between SCAU and universities in HongKong and Macao. In promoting the international multi-agricultural technological exchanges, the UNDP, FAO and WFC have attached great importance to the university and established the Regional Sericulture Training Center for Asia and Pacific and China International Center for Agricultural Training in SCAU. Every year numbers of foreign scholars come here to make academic exchanges and to give lectures. In addition, our university has been sending groups of teachers and researchers to 22 countries for short-term training, education and cooperative research.

Yangzhou University is a university in Jiangsu Province, China. It grew out of a merger in 1992 of six existing colleges. The school has around 2,000 faculty and 31,000 undergraduates. It offers 92 undergraduate programs covering 11 disciplines. The programs and research include humanity, science, business, engineering, architecture, computer, medicine, art, music, agriculture, animal husbandry, etc. Around 2,000 faculty members work on campus, including around 1000 professors and associate professors. 97 faculty members are entitled to State Fund for Specialists, 29 are entitled as Outstanding Contribution-making Young Experts by the government.
