  • The Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University boasts a long history and a rich heritage of learning and scholarship. As a result of China's on-going optimization of its educational system, Fudan University (established in 1905) and Shanghai Medical University (established in 1927) merged in the April of 2000 to be a more comprehensive institution of higher education. Today, the College has twenty national key disciplines, one national key laboratory, eight key disciplines to be further constructed in Project 211, nine key laboratories under the supervision of the Ministry of Education or the Ministry of Health, two municipal key disciplines and eight Shanghai Clinic Medical Centers. It has four research stations that offer postdoctoral fellowships, twenty-nine doctoral programs and thirty-six master programs. Fudan has ten teaching hospitals, such as Zhong-shan (Dr. Sun Yat-san) Hospital and Hua-shan (Mount Lotus) Hospital, which offer quality medical service to the general public, conduct clinical education to student doctors and perform advanced scientific researches.

  • The Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) is a national key university directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education of P. R. China, and is among the first Universities joining the national “211 Project” and “985 Project”. HUST has been honored as the “University in the Forest”. HUST graduates have been enjoying popularity among employers in the job market, and the employment rate has reached above 95%. The Affiliated Union Hospital and Tongji Hospital are large modern comprehensive hospitals integrating the function of medical service, education, scientific research and training. As the medical centers of Hubei Province and even South Central China, the hospitals boast a large number of sophisticated medical equipments, like advanced level superconductive magnetic resonance devices, X knife device. They also maintain leading positions in organ transplantation, cardiovascular surgery, hematologists, ENT, orthopedics, urology and other fields within the country. The affiliated Liyuan Hospital specializes in presbyatrics and is the research center of Geriatric Conditions of Hubei Province.
  • As one of the national key universities directly under the State Ministry of Education (MOE) as well as one of the State “211 Project” universities enjoying privileged construction in the Ninth Five-Year Plan period, the present Sichuan University (SCU) was first incorporated with Chengdu University of Science and Technology (CUST), another national key university under the MOE in1994, and West China University of Medical Science (WCUMS), a key university directly subordinated to the State Ministry of Health in 2000. West China Hospital of Sichuan University was approved by MOH to try out the 7-year program in 1988 and by MOE to try out the 8-year program in 2004, thus it has become one of the first medical institute to carry out an extended medical education. Since 2002, the school started to recruit foreign medical students for 6-year study with Bachelor degree of Medicine. The teaching is totally in English and graduates are welcomed by their home countries.
  • Central South University (CSU) is a comprehensive and national key university under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education in China. CSU was established in April, 2000 on the basis of the amalgamation of the three former individual universities, namely Central South University of Technology, Hunan Medical University and Changsha Railway University. CSU is among the 32 universities first acceded to the "211 Project". The university has 3 top affiliated hospitals which enjoy good reputation.   • Capital Medical University (CMU) was founded in 1960. It ranks among the top academic medical institutions in China,and is considered as one of the key municipal universities in Beijing. CMU consists of 10 Schools, 14 affiliated hospitals and 1 teaching institution. The university and the affiliated hospitals have a staff of about 20,000. Among the staff, there are 6 members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences or the Chinese Academy of Engineering, over 1,000 professors, and over 2,000 associate professors. The university has over 9,000 enrolled students. CMU provides a wide range of educational programs for Doctorates, Masters, Bachelors and certificates.
  • China Pharmaceutical University(CPU),originally the National Pharmaceutical School founded in 1936, is China’s first independent school of pharmacy and it has been one of the best universities of pharmacy in China with a wide variety of specialized areas. It is one of the “211 project” key universities affiliated to the Ministry of Education of China.According to the 2008 statistics of the Ministry of Education of China, CPU s Pharmacy discipline ranks No. 1 and Traditional Chinese Pharmacy discipline ranks No. 3 among all Chinese universities.The employment rate tops among the higher institutions in China, about 99.8% for undergraduates, 100% for post-graduates, and 99.33% for vocational school students.
  • Shandong University is one of the oldest and prestigious universities in China. In 2001, it was listed among the 211 national key construction first-class universities by the Ministry of Education. Shandong University School of Medicine, as the main body of former Shandong Medical University, is one of the earliest medical schools in our country, and the school has 28 preclinical and clinical research institutes and 8 affiliated hospitals. Clinical medicine is the trditional dominent domain, which is approved as the first characteristic majjor by the Ministry of Education in 1997. By now, the school enrolls over 300 international students majoring in clinical medicine from countries of Pakistan, India and South Africa,etc. The School of Medicine attaches great importance to disciplinary development. It owns 3 national key discplines and 6 ministerial and provincial key research labs and It also has 13 provincial key disciplines. Disciplines in the Medical School, such as Preclinical Medicine, Clinical Medicine, Biology and Biomedical Engineering, recruit Ph.D candidates and Postdoctoral Research Fellows.
  • Wuhan University is a key university directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. It was selected by both Project 985 and Project 211 as a major receiver of state fundings. Wuhan University is acknowledged as one of the most beautiful universities in the world. Under WUHSC, there are nine subordinate schools and centers: School of Basic Medical Science, First School of Clinical Medicine, Second School of Clinical Medicine, School of Stomatology, School of Pharmacy, School of Public Health, HOPE Nursing School, A3 Laboratory and Animal Experiment Center, Vocational and Technical College; 3 affiliated hospitals: Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University, Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University, Wuhan University Hospital of Stomatology; and 11 non-directly affiliated hospitals. At the present, WUSM has a total number of 5273 studying students, among which 2125 are undergraduates, 660 are seven-year students, 230 are eight-year students, 1198 are post-graduates, 375 are Ph.D candidates, and 685 are oversea students.
  • Anhui Medical University (AMU) is one of the oldest educational institutions in Hefei, Anhui province, which is located in the east of central China and honored as “the city with State Innovation of Science and Technology”. Now AMU has developed into a comprehensive medical university with 23 subjects covering nearly all of the medical fields including Clinical Medicine, Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Health Management, Pharmacology, Dentistry, and Nursing, among those eight subjects have been qualified to offer Ph.D. degree. The University consists of eight faculties, totally, 17,000 enrolled students, in which Medical Faculty predominates with over 6,000 students including clinical medicine, laboratory medicine, psychology, anesthesia, and medical imaging, etc. AMU insists on an important concept since its foundation to promote interdisciplinarity and combination of teaching and scientific research with clinical activities. The First University Hospital and the University Hospital of Dentistry enjoy high reputation in the east of the central country In addition to the “hardware” construction, the university has been focusing on both basic and applied research, ranking in top one of the province-owned academic institutions in the grant harvest from the National Science Foundation of China (NSFC)
